To follow up on my initial Catwoman sketch, I've done a full front and back design of my take on Jim Balent's Catwoman in today's DC Comics universe. I'm not a fan of the look Selina's had for the past 10 years, so I thought I'd bring back my old favorite with the sleek tactical look that most comic and movie characters use these days.
Looks really great, though I'm not a big fan of Catwoman showing her hair. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Still, very cool design. I like the color, because it looks like it can blend into the shadows pretty well. Catwoman should rely on stealth so bright colors and her don't make a very good match. The boots look great too, I like the cat-paw design in those.
I really like the tactical design. But myself, I'm sick of how everyone is very muted colours.. bring back the lovely purple, I say. Not everything has to be gritty like the movies.
Thank you! I was going for logic with the colors, but I do like Balent's bright beautiful purple as well. I figured this suit was actually more catlike while also being functional. I based it on my own cat in fact, who's brown I've also started watching you, I love your art!
Thank you! I'm pretty much over the black "saggy leather" look with the short haircut. I'm so disappointed with the New 52 overall, but I'm hoping that the characters will get another re-imagining soon.
